What It Means to Be AAHA-Accredited
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is the only organization of its kind that holds animal hospitals to a higher standard and offers them accreditation. AAHA was founded in 1933 by veterinary professionals and has focused its energy into promoting high-quality care for pets and their people. At Park Grove Pet Hospital, we wanted to show our dedication to higher standards of pet care, so in 2011, we became AAHA-accredited.
AAHA’s Standards of Excellence
To become AAHA-accredited, we must meet AAHA’s Standards of Excellence. Only 15% of veterinary hospitals in the US and Canada are accredited, meaning standards of care vary significantly across the board. Yet, at an AAHA-accredited animal hospital, you can be assured that you and your pet will be receiving the very best of care. AAHA’s Standards of Excellence cover over 900 areas of our hospital including:
- Preventative care
- Dental care
- Anesthesia protocols
- Surgical equipment and suites
- Surgical protocols
- Pain management
- Client services
- Record keeping
- Clinic hygiene and cleanliness
- And so much more

Why Choose an AAHA-Accredited Animal Hospital?
By choosing an AAHA-accredited animal hospital, you ensure that your pet is getting the best that veterinary medicine has to offer as well as the latest best practices. From the most routine procedures to complex care, we strive for excellence in all we do. AAHA-accredited hospitals are evaluated every 3 years to ensure they maintain their higher levels of care. We are proud to have been accredited since 2011 and aim to maintain and improve our services to clients and pets for many more years to come.
