Courtney Porter, Practice Manager
Courtney joined the PGPH family in January 2019. Having started in the veterinary field as a receptionist, she worked her way through and up over the years, gaining experience in all aspects of the veterinary clinic. With her rounded knowledge and passion of the inner workings of a clinic, the veterinary field, and the people in it, she is excited to be part of the team to give our clients and their furry loved-ones a great clinic experience from the moment they come in our doors.
Courtney lives in Farmington with her husband, their twins, and two Labs, Jax and Posie! Courtney’s passion for animals began at a young age. Aside from growing up with them, she spent a lot of time at her family’s farm where a lot of different animals called home. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys spending time with family, friends, attending concerts, traveling, working out/running, spending time outdoors, and getting creative!
Certified Veterinary Technicians
Reina M., Lead CVT
Reina has been a certified veterinary technician at Park Grove since September 2017. She received her AAS degree in veterinary technology from what was once Globe University and Minnesota School of Business in 2005 and has worked in general practice since. She has lived in Appleton, WI for several years where she was employed at an AAHA-accredited clinic. She knew when her family moved back to the Twin Cities area that she wanted to find another AAHA-accredited practice to call home due to the high level of standards and care that is provided to patients and clients. Reina’s favorite thing about veterinary medicine is surgery and anesthesia. She feels proud to be a part of a practice that sustains a high level of care for our patients in order to ensure they have the smoothest, most pain-free procedure possible.
Outside of her position as a CVT, she is a wife and a mom to two daughters and a son. Their family stays busy with school (Reina included, as she pursues her nursing degree), sports, bike riding, concerts, and traveling.
Jess H., CVT, Inventory Control Tech
Jess has been with the Park Grove family since 2004. She graduated with an associate in applied science degree from Argosy University in 2004.
She resides in Western Wisconsin with her husband, Hugh, and son, Graham. She enjoys softball, bingo, and spending time with friends and family.
Brittany S., CVT
Brittany joined the Park Grove family in August 2018. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with her bachelor’s degree in animal science with a pre-vet emphasis in 2016. She then graduated from Argosy University with her associate degree in veterinary technology in 2018. Brittany’s favorite parts of veterinary medicine are emergency medicine and surgery, and she has a special interest in equine medicine.
Outside of work, she spends most of her time with family and friends riding horses, camping, fishing, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings! She has an Australian Shepherd named Diesel and two Quarter Horses named Daisy and Remington.
Michelle F., CVT
Michelle joined Park Grove’s team in August of 2019! She has been a technician for 15 years. For 5 of those 15 years, she was a stay-at-home mom until recently jumping back into the vet-med field. She is originally from Washington State, attended school in Denver, Colorado, and relocated to Minnesota in 2014. Michelle has primarily worked with small animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, etc.) but she also has experience with birds of all sizes (parrots, parakeets, owls, eagles, and hawks). Her favorite part of being a certified veterinary technician is helping your pets with their anesthesia and surgery, among many other things!
Michelle has two beautiful daughters named Caelyn and Avery, one dog named Brady who is a Lab/German Shorthair Pointer mix.
Amber L., CVT
Amber joined the PGPH family in October 2019 as a CVT. She was born and raised on a small family-owned dairy farm in Wisconsin. She had a passion for animals at a very young age. Her parents always claimed she never played with dolls growing up because she had all the animals on the farm that were her toys! Amber attended and graduated from Argosy University in 2015 with a degree in veterinary technology and officially became certified in 2016. Her favorite part of her job is being around animals and helping them live healthy and happy lives. No day is ever the same in vet medicine! There is always something new to learn and see each and every day in this career.
Now she calls River Falls home, where she lives with her fiancé, son, and two cats. When Amber isn’t at work, she enjoys going to northern Wisconsin to enjoy some camping, fishing, and four-wheeling. She also enjoys reading a good book, gardening, going to movies or just hanging out at home with her family.
Courtney G., CVA, Office Coordinator
Courtney started her career with Park Grove in 2016 as a customer service representative. After realizing she wanted to be more hands-on and involved with our patients, she was trained and became a certified veterinary assistant! After adopting her dog, Cabo, who, as a puppy had to have two orthopedic surgeries, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in the veterinary field. She is now enrolled in a veterinary technician program through the American Animal Hospital Association and will become a CVT!
One of her favorite aspects of her position is phlebotomy and running lab tests on our patients. After taking several courses and exams, Courtney also became Fear Free Certified. Fear Free is a method that uses minimal restraint and low-stress care to ensure each patient who comes to our clinic is as comfortable as possible.
Outside of Park Grove, Courtney enjoys spending time with her young daughter and her Pit Bull, Cabo, both of whom keep her very busy!
Melanie G., VA
Melanie has been a CSR and vet assistant with Park Grove since September 2016! Her favorite part of her position is getting to meet new kittens (and their owners, of course), and taking care of our clinic cat, Teddy. Melanie has two cats of her own, Winston and Oliver. Whether at the front or taking your appointment, Melanie will always greet you with a smile, ready to help!
In her free time, you might find her riding horses, going out to eat, or spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite channel on TV is TLC. She enjoys traveling and volunteering in places like Turks and Caicos, Galapagos Islands, and Leech Lake Legacy.
